What Is Connect NH?

Connect NH is a statewide initiative to make local conversation open, accessible, and open again. We host a network of community-run Facebook pages where residents can share and discuss local news, ideas, and share their opinions freely. Each community operates with a simple goal: promoting discussion that's fair and respectful while allowing a full range of viewpoints.

Whether the topic is new construction, a school vote, or a national topic that has local impact, Connect NH aims to ensure everyone has a place to speak their mind. Our aim is to help restore the idea of a shared public square in New Hampshire.

Why We Started

In New Hampshire, just like across America, social media has largely replaced the town common. Communities are too often siloed into online spaces that may operate with good intentions, but are heavily filtered. Many residents feel silenced or unwelcome when they try to talk about community issues in good faith.

Connect NH was created to encourage a spirit of open discussion and back it back the local level. Our guiding principle is simple: conversation builds community. When people can talk honestly, they can also cooperate, solve problems, and strengthen trust in their communities.

How Connect NH Works

• Town and regional pages affiliated with Connect NH are linked through ConnectNH.com, where residents can find and join their community’s forum. While we cannot prevent others from creating similarly named pages, those linked from ConnectNH.com are affiliated with and moderated by us.
• Anyone with connection to or interest in a New Hampshire region with a Connect NH page is welcome to join and participate. Whether you’re a current or past resident, interested in moving or visiting, or just curious to discuss a topic with local residents.
• Posts may be removed for legal or safety reasons, but never for dissenting opinions. Our goal is to maintain fairness and open dialogue, not to curate or filter ideas.
